Initial Ideas
This is my initial ideas mindmap. It explores my first 3 initial ideas, below is a explanation of these ideas.
Initial Ideas list
Idea One:
Interviews - My first idea is an interview. The interview would focus on representation of people from black and minority ethnic backgrounds and refugees and how they are portrayed within media, specifically print (newspapers) and digital journalism. The interviews would form a journalistic piece based on how minorities are represented in the media. It would allow me to build on my interview skills and interview strangers to find out their thoughts, it would also develop skills for podcasting.

Feasibility: In terms of filming, this would be an easy idea. It is finding the people to film that would be more of a problem, but this idea has been combined with idea 2 with some changes.

Weekly round up videos inspired (in the style of) NewsRound - 2/3 minute videos edited in a news style. There will also be references to Gogglebox, as it will allow me to have different styles and allow for some comedic comments.

Would be presented interactively - with designs and layouts set up leading to a computer with website loaded.

Feasibility: In terms of filming, this is going to be a challenge for me but a good one, it will allow me to develop my interviewing skills, engaging with an audience, and developing writing style and reporting style. This will also be good for a younger audience (18-25 years old) because they are more likely to interact with something if its online and digital.
Idea Three:
Making a newspaper/magazine (printed):
This idea would allow for building experience with writing articles, it would also allow me to research magazines, which i don't know as much about. This idea has its disadvantages such as not being able to compile enough stories for a daily or weekly newspaper on my own and how it would take a long time to complete.

Feasibility: This idea was good in theory, but it would be the audience side that could be a problem, not many people aged around 18-25 would pick up a magazine or physical newspaper, when everything is digital.
